The final playoff spots in the AFC and the NFC were secured by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos during Week 18 of the 2024-25 NFL season, completing the 14-team bracket.
Two of this weekend’s six playoff games feature visiting favorites, with the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers favored to win on the road.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans
- Point Spread: Chargers -3.0 (EVEN), Texans +3.0 (-120)
- Moneyline Odds: Chargers -150, Texans +130
- Over: 42.5 (-115)
- Under: 42.5 (-105)
The Houston Texans won the AFC South division for the second year in a row and hold the fourth seed in the conference. Houston’s play was not exactly dominant in 2024, but the remaining franchises in the division are lackluster at best.
Can C.J. Stroud and the Texans turn up the heat in time for a January playoff run? NFL betting sites have them as 3-point underdogs to the visiting Chargers, who have gone 6-3 during away games this season.
Most of the credit for LA’s success can be attributed to the hiring of head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers went 5-12 last year, and improved their win total by 6 games this year.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams
- Point Spread: Vikings -1.5 (-110), Rams +1.5 (-110)
- Moneyline Odds: Vikings -130, Rams +110
- Over: 47.0 (-115)
- Under: 47.0 (-105)
The Minnesota Vikings could have become the number one seed in the NFC with a win against the Detroit Lions last Sunday Night, but their loss dropped them to the 5th overall seed in the conference.
The odds for betting on the NFL Playoffs imply that MN will beat the Rams on the road, but Los Angeles is one of the few teams to actually beat the Vikings this season.
On October 24th, the Rams defeated the Vikings 30-10 in Los Angeles. Sunday night, Minnesota allowed the Lions to score 21 points in the second half and blow the game wide open.
Will that slump carry over to Wild Card Weekend? Oddsmakers suggest that Minnesota will win in SoFi Stadium and favor them by -1.5.
The home team is favored to win the other four Wild Card games.
