The NBA is set to return to action on July 30th, 2020, following the Coronavirus pandemic, and as expected, the Lakers (+190) are the favorites to win the Finals.
The 22-team restart will be the first of its kind in NBA history, and all the action will take place “in a bubble” at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. No fans will be allowed to attend the games, and players and team staff will undergo routine virus checks. According to YahooSports, the move will cost the NBA more than $150 million total or approximately $1.5 million a day.
In recent weeks the Coronavirus has spiked across southern states, including Florida, leaving some doubting the restart of the 2020 NBA season. Despite the recent spike, NBA teams will soon arrive in Orlando to start quarantine before the restart of the season.
The Lakers have been sitting on top of the odds boards ever since they traded for Anthony Davis this past offseason. While they have teeter tottered with the Clippers and the Bucks throughout the year, the Lakers are still a solid bet to win it all.
