The first rankings issued by the College Football Playoffs Committee will be released on November 5th, the same day the United States will elect the next President.
There are four weekends of college football remaining until those initial CFP rankings are dropped. Three major games are going down this Saturday, which will shape how those rankings are crafted in one month’s time.
Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Oregon Ducks
- Point Spread: OSU -4.0 (-110), ORE +4.0 (-110)
- Moneyline: OSU -185, ORE +160
- Over: 52.5 (-110)
- Under: 52.5 (-110)
The Ohio State Buckeyes are now the second-ranked team in the AP Top 25 after being leapfrogged by the Texas Longhorns. Ohio State travels to Eugene, Oregon, this Saturday to face the third-ranked Ducks.
Oregon and Ohio State are 5-0 overall with 2-0 records in the Big Ten. The winner of this game will get the early edge on what could be the Conference’s only CFP berth.
The Buckeyes and Ducks kick off at noon. Ohio State is favored to win by 4 at NCAA Football sportsbooks.
Mississippi Bulldogs vs. LSU Tigers
- Point Spread: MISS -3.0 (EVEN), LSU +3.0 (-120)
- Moneyline: MISS -145, LSU +125
- Over: 64.0 (-110)
- Under: 64.0 (-110)
The LSU Tigers are ranked 13th, and while they dropped their opener to the USC Trojans 27-20, they remain undefeated in the SEC. Saturday at 7:30 PM, the Tigers will host the 9th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels, who enter the game with a record of 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the SEC.
Miss lost to Kentucky 20-17 two weekends ago. Only three SEC programs remain with undefeated in-conference records – LSU, the Texas A&M Aggies, and the newly top-ranked Texas Longhorns.
Preseason odds for betting on the College Football Playoffs suggest that at least five SEC teams could qualify, leaving plenty of room for one-loss teams like the Bulldogs and potentially LSU.
The latest line on the game favors Ole Miss on the road by 3 points.
Iowa State Cyclones vs. West Virginia Mountaineers
- Point Spread: ISU -3.0 (-110), WV +3.0 (-110)
- Moneyline: ISU -150, WV +130
- Over: 51.0 (-110)
- Under: 51.0 (-110)
The 11th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones face the Mountaineers in West Virginia with a kickoff set for 8:00 PM. ISU is 5-0 and 2-0 in the Big 12.
WV is unranked, and while they’re undefeated at 2-0 in Big 12 play, they’re 3-2 overall. Their two losses have been quality, however. The Mountaineers lost the season opener to Penn State and a heartbreaker to Pittsburgh on September 14th.
The Cyclones are favored to win by a field goal in Morgantown.
